Pontefract

Pontefract is located just under 10 miles South of the Milford Hotel and is a historic market town dating back to at least the middle ages. Pontefract castle was built by the Normans in about 1070, however the castle has been in ruin since 1644, when it was beseiged during the English Civil War.
